(This page is reprinted from the March 3, 2006 installment of "Shop Talk") Body #3 is shown nearing delivery as a Body-to-Trailer Conversion. We are paying attention to every detail to make sure that after 11 years at work, #3 will be ready to continue into its next decade of service. Our customer's anvil has been relocated from a deck holder to an underbody swing-out, which will place his working height at 30 1/2" above the ground. There will be plenty of underbody storage space behind the swing-out, and that's an added benefit of a body-to-trailer conversion. As you can see from the pictures, the skins of this particular unit were in such good shape that reswirling made it really hard to tell from the outside that this is not a brand new unit. The only visible difference is that the notch for the fuel-filler remains in the original driver's side door, and the fuel-filler frame is covered with a matching plate. We replaced the original D-Ring latches, all door struts, updated cabinet hardware, and performed a complete inspection of 12 volt and 110 volt wiring. We used the very same inspection checklists as we do on every new unit. |

We reworked Bob's slide-out, and installed new power equipment and wiring. Several folks at the Omaha Convention requested more detailed pictures of our slide-outs, so here are some better views. Just roll your mouse pointer over the pictures to see it in operation. Our ball-bearing slide-outs provide both increased storage and improved access to deck-mounted power tools. |
